Cherie, I have a teaching studio, so I have to keep records of what goes in the kiln and how I fired it. A customer may want another piece to match a first piece and different temperatures produce different shades of the same color glaze. Okay you fire tiles. Are they consistently coming from the same spot inside the kiln (the bad ones)? How are you firing your kiln? Cone number and speed you fire. Do they have a grainy, rough feel to them (not enough glaze). What is the consistency of the glaze you are using, does it flow from your pallette knife when you stir it? These are some of the things we can discuss to try to find out what is happening to your pieces. Don't give up, it may just be something simple and maybe we can save some of those tiles. Char
