First, I have to say that this is a great forum for a rookie like myself, since I have been able to glean the answers to half of my questions from previous Q&A - so thanks.
I am looking to apply decals (such as those on this site) to blank china plates for mosaic projects. The cost of patterned china is so prohibitive and the patterns so limited, I thought this may be a less expensive solution. My question is what should I expect as a typical firing cost for this type of project? Also, is there a particular type of blank plate I should avoid?
Alternately, would it be less expensive to take classes and eventually buy a kiln outright?
I have checked the Services link on this site, and there are none for my area.
Any input would be appreciated.
Scott
